LPN Admission Requirements Thank you for your interest in Ambria College of Nursing Practical Nursing Program. Ambria is a premier provider of nursing education in Illinois. In 2010, Ambria has the highest NCLEX-PN pass rate among Chicago's private LPN schools. Ambria is also the only private LPN school that offers an RN Bridge program helping you to obtain your Associates Degree in Nursing. What are the admission requirements for the LPN program?There are four requirements. And you must complete all of them to apply for admission. 1. Pass the entrance exam.The entrance exam assesses your academic readiness for the practical nursing program. It's consisted of four sections: math, reading, science, and english. The exam is 4 hours long. A study manual can be purchased at the campus bookstore, and review sessions are also available. To be eligible for admission, you must achieve a cumulative score of at least 50% on the exam. Reserve your seat and register for the next entrance exam now. 2. Show Active Status on The Health Care Registry.You must be active on the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Health Care Worker Registry. Go to the Illinois Department of Public Health website to search your name and print out your profile details. If you are not yet a CNA, you can also find an approved training program on the IDPH website. 3. Complete Four Required Pre-Requisite Courses. You must complete the following general education courses: - Introduction to Psychology
- English Composition
- Math for Nurses (Waived for students who pass Math Placement Exam)
Ambria accepts transfer credits from regionally accredited institutions. In order to evaluate your transcripts, you must send them to Ambria and fill out the Transcript Evaluation Form. Since most applicants have completed these general education courses at their local community college, they are not offered every term at Ambria due to low enrollment. If you are interested in taking these courses at Ambria, please inquire with an admissions advisor regarding placement exams and scheduling. 4. Apply for Financial Aid (TITLE IV).Applicants who do not wish to apply for financial aid may participate in Ambria's payment plan.
