Change in Ownership Update
Significant progress in the change in ownership process has been made over the past month. However, we are still waiting on additional accreditation approval, which is expected within the next month. For that reason, the effective date of the CIO has been changed to May 1, 2024.

Ambria College of Nursing Announces Partnership with Judson University
Ambria College of Nursing is pleased to announce its planned partnership with Judson University
(www.judsonu.edu
), a nonprofit Christian university in Elgin with over 1000 students and 60 programs of study at the undergraduate, graduate, and adult professional levels. Following the acquisition, which is subject to regulatory approval, Ambria will become an additional location of Judson University. Through this partnership, we will make quality nursing education available to more students while providing access to expanded student support services.
The Change in Ownership (“CIO”) is subject to a two-step review process by the Department of Education (“the Department”):
Step 1
First, the transaction will be processed as a CIO of Ambria. Ambria and Judson expect to initiate this first step on March 1, 2024, pending approval from accreditation and state approving agencies.
During this step, Judson will acquire control of Ambria. However, while the acquisition is being reviewed by the Department, Ambria will continue to exist and operate as a separate institution. Ambria students will not experience any changes to their enrollment or program delivery during this phase of approval. Students will attend classes in the same building, while being served by Ambria faculty and staff.
Step 2
Once Step 1 is complete, Judson will apply for Ambria to become a part of Judson University, as an additional location to its main Elgin campus. After all regulatory approvals are granted in this step, Ambria will cease to exist as a separate institution. The Hoffman Estates campus will continue to offer nursing programs, with the additional location being known as “Ambria College of Nursing at Judson University.”
After Step 2 is complete, students will still continue in the nursing program with the same courses, curriculum, and delivery but they will officially be students of Judson University.
